A Drawing Win from My Friend Mary

It was a happy surprise to find this in my mailbox this morning!  I won a drawing that Mary offered recently, just last week.  The Autumn Medley pattern and a winter scene panel is what I expected to find in the package.  As you can see Mary added several surprise gifts.  This is one of those pincushions on a pedestal, how fun!  The card says Anything Worth Doing is worth over-doing, well amen to that sister!!

Mary is always doing something to add fun, good cheer and happiness to my days.  I know she touches the lives of many with her thoughtfulness.  Kindness is something she extends daily...sort of like the mail carrier, no matter the weather in gloom or rain or snow, she makes her rounds to check in with all, lol.  Thanks Mary!

  

  Of course this panel is much prettier in person.  With a bit of stitching I can turn this into a festive winter quilt that just happens to suit my home perfectly.

I have come to know many good folks from all areas of the world THE WORLD!!, who bring much joy to my days.  So much is found through blogger.com...who knew?     

Come On Along For A Walk

At this point in time, and according to my pedometer, I walk between five thousand and eight thousand steps a day, seven days a week. The goal that I have set for myself is this; I want to walk five days a week and reach 10,000 steps for each of those five days. I know, that's a lot of steps! It's going to take some time to increase by adding 500 steps each week. It doesn't matter where or how fast the steps are taken, I just need to accumulate steps until I reach my daily goal...  Want to join me?

Here's the deal. Not all steps are aerobic, of course, however, it is a bonus if you do at least 30 minutes of aerobic walking. Steps add up while you do chores, walking from the car to door ~ helps to park on the far side of the parking lot, lol, whatever has you taking steps counts! Begin with a reasonable goal and build on that.

A pedometer is a very useful tool for tracking your progress. I purchased mine at Amazon.com. I can load the information onto my computer to keep the history and I really like that. Allows me to see my progress and I am seeing progress!

PS:  Always more to say, lol, but I had to tell you that Tom is doing much better now.  HURRAY for that!! He may even venture off to work later next week-ish, well, we'll see.  :O)

Out of Season

Snow in October ~ woke up to this on Saturday morning ~ the leaves didn't have a chance to turn yellow, orange, red or rust ~ not yet, no pretty colors glowing in the sun and the leaves are still green.

Firewood was finally delivered last Thursday ~ has yet to be neatly stacked ~ guess I better get busy.

 

Simon and Schuster are unaffected by this change of weather, they are warm and cozy, snuggled in the sunshine and admiring the snow.  Hmm, wish I had time to join them.

A girl needs time for her quilting!  It is snowing outside again today and I hope to sew.  I am quilting the quilt top pictured here and would like to get back to this later on today ~

while Tom naps.  Healing has had it's ups and downs, he still suffers with pain, which is of course a big pain in the butt. Another surgery this week ~ a very minor procedure in comparison to the others.  So it's back and forth to the doctors and hospital and a little bit of quilting in between the running and the chores.  Will see how the week goes...you know how crazy busy life can be.


Over-all, things are improving around here.  Hope life is treating you well.
